Edges is a conceptual visual and poetic exploration of isolation through the language of biophysics. In this artist's book, illustrations and expressive typography combine to communicate themes of separation, fragmentation, and loneliness.
The book’s bold, minimalist design draws from futurist aesthetics and the works of Warren Lehrer and Clifton Mehdor. The book's text is derived from a long-format poem by the same artist. The original text has been visually manipulated, dissected, and spatially elongated to manufacture an experimentally dynamic reading experience. Accompanying the poem are simplistic illustrations that reference the aesthetics of children's books, and integrate with the text to produce an increasingly immersive reading experience.
